What counts as an Excel tip
An Excel tip is a single task with a short answer. Where the guides section explains a whole formula family, this section answers the question you have in the middle of a workbook: the header row that scrolled away, the duplicates you can see but cannot count, the text that refuses to split.
Answers are written to be read in under a minute and to give the result first — the menu path, the shortcut, the formula — with the explanation after it rather than before. Version caveats come last: which of these changed in Excel 365, and which keyboard shortcuts differ between Windows and Mac, is noted where it matters instead of at the top of every piece.
For the parts no longer worth doing by hand, the automation side is covered in automating Excel without VBA. Each tip names which of the two paths it belongs to: the built-in route, or the one you describe in a sentence.
